Football Warm Ups

If you are serious about football and playing a season without injury then it is vitally important that you learn to warm up before a match or training session. When your muscles are cold and without a warm up, you are much more prone to getting an injury that could potentially ruin your season.
Football places considerable stress on your muscles and joints and therefore it is essential that you have a good football warm up routine. The aim of your warm up is to gradually loosen and warm up the muscles by stretching and doing some light exercise to get the blood flowing.
The best way to start your warm up is generally with a gentle jog for about 10 minutes, starting slowly. The aim here is just to get your body warm and not to over exert yourself before the game. You just want to get your heart rate up slightly and warm up before moving on to some stretches.
After the jog you should spend about 5 or ten minutes doing some stretches to limber up the muscles, paying particular attention to your legs.
